# CPSC Acting Chairman Adler on Way to Another Term

Last week President Obama announced his intent to nominate Robert S. Adler to a second term as a Commissioner of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”). Adler has held his current postion, which is scheduled to end in October 2014, since 2009 and had previously served at the CPSC as an attorney advisor to to Commissioners from 1973 to 1984. In his current term as Commissioner, Adler has been a strong supporter of mandatory compliance programs (at least in connection with some civil penalty agreements or corrective action plans), the consumer database mandated by the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, and making voluntary corrective action plans legally binding.
