# Transgender Rights: An Evolving Landscape

Partners [Barbara Hoey](/Our-People/Barbara-E-Hoey) and [Mark Konkel](/Our-People/Mark-A-Konkel) authored the *InsideCounsel* article ​“Transgender Rights: An Evolving Landscape.” The article outlines recent milestones and recommendations of what employers should know in order to foster a safe and legally compliant work space for LGBT employees. Specifically, the authors emphasize the importance of companies educating their managers and workers regarding the rights of LGBT employees. In addition, they should be aware that companies will not condone poor treatment of gay or lesbian employees, and that they must be sensitive to the needs of transgender employees.
