# The Far-Reaching Implications of Anti-Money Laundering Regulations in the United States

The article examined the anti-money laundering provisions of the USA PATRIOT Act with particular emphasis on regulatory guidelines related specifically to foreign entities. It discussed the implementation of a consumer identification program, special requirements for private and correspondent accounts, and the consequences that financial institutions can face should they fail to comply with the law.
