Partner [Gonzalo Mon](/Our-People/Gonzalo-E-Mon) co-authored the *Law360* article “Plaintiffs Drive Website Accessibility As DOJ Delays Rule.” The NBA and the NCAA have recently joined a growing list of retailers, restaurants, hotels and other companies that have been hit with proposed class actions alleging that their websites violate the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) because they are not accessible to the blind. Gonzalo notes that, although these types of cases have been on the rise in recent years, they still come as a surprise to people who are used to thinking of the ADA only in terms of things like wheel chair ramps and handicapped parking spaces. The article provides background on the ADA and how some companies deny that their sites are places of public accommodation subject to the act. Gonzalo also offers some possible website modifications.
