# Introduction to Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Second Edition

Partner [Eric McClafferty](/Our-People/Eric-McClafferty) co-authored the chapter ​“Export Control and ITAR” in the book, *Introduction to Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Second Edition.* The book surveys the fundamentals of unmanned aircraft system (UAS) operations, from sensors, controls, and automation to regulations, safety procedures, and human factors. In his chapter, Eric outlines the critical issues surrounding exports of drone and robotic vehicle products, software and technical information. Topics include the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) and how it affects manufacturers, employees, users, and exporters of drones and their components, including sensors and payloads.
