# Freedom Of Information Act: Revising Exemptions 4,6, and 7(C) to Better Protect Businesses’ Private Information

Partner [Ira Kasdan](/Our-People/Ira-T-Kasdan)​’s article ​“Freedom Of Information Act: Revising Exemptions 4,6, and 7(C) to Better Protect Businesses’ Private Information” is featured in the April 2017 volume of *Pratt’s Privacy & Cybersecurity Law Report*. The article notes that the time has come to modify Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”) Exemption 4 to better protect reputational harm and to combat the overall misuse of FOIA by activist groups. Ira also states that Exemptions 6 and 7(C) should be modified to extend ​“personal privacy” protection to corporations.
