# ESA or EFA: Endangered Fishermen Act!

The article discusses the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) announcement that it will continue its ongoing rulemaking process to expand critical habitat for North Atlantic right whales in response to a petition filed by the Center for Biological Diversity and other environmental groups. The article highlights several unwelcome trends for fisherman as the number of endangered species and protected habitats continues to grow despite minimal declines in populations or definitive research to back up increased regulation.
