# Common Sense Rules in LA Lakers Text Message Lawsuit

Partner [Gonzalo Mon](/Our-People/Gonzalo-E-Mon) authored the *Mobile Marketer* article, ​“Common Sense Rules in LA Lakers Text Message Lawsuit.” The article discusses the latest developments with lawsuits concerning unsolicited text messages and the law under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). Many courts in recent cases have taken a common sense approach to the key law in this area and dismissed nuisance suits.

With a recent case against the LA Lakers as example, Gonzalo concludes that while there are a still a number of legal risks associated with text message campaigns, developments suggest that companies now have a better shot at prevailing in these types of nuisance suits.
