# Business Websites Explore the Limits of In Personam Jurisdiction

This article reviews how various jurisdictions evaluate a company’s Internet presence for the purpose of establishing personal jurisdiction. The author explains two tests, which have emerged in determining whether a business website can expose the company to lawsuits throughout the country. He explains how the courts have analyzed Internet activities applying the *Zippo Mfg. v. Zippo Dot Com, Inc.* and the *Calder v. Jones* cases.
