# Are “Rocket Dockets” in Decline? Court rulings should lead to more high-stakes patent suits in Connecticut

  March 14, 2011

Connecticut Law Tribune

This article focuses on venue for patent infringement actions and cases where plaintiffs have chosen judicial districts bearing little relation to either parties in the lawsuit. The article documents the shift in how courts hearing large commercial patent cases have recently cracked down on forum shopping by plaintiffs seeking patent friendly jurisdictions or “rocket dockets.” The article reviews implications this trend may have for Connecticut companies contemplating where to bring patent suits, including making Connecticut a more attractive forum than may have previously been the case.
