 As a practiced commercial real estate and business lawyer, Steven Gellerstein understands how to tackle the non-traditional elements in complex transactions, guide his clients through them, and get the deal done.

Steven’s commercial real estate practice covers the financing, acquisition, and sale of real property. He has extensive experience in the closing of commercial mortgage loans across the United States, representing both lenders and borrowers. He has guided numerous bank clients in lending on projects involving the use of historic tax credits.

Steven also represents lenders in purchasing and selling participating interests in loans, including healthcare and business loans, as well as bond transactions. He has closed numerous transactions that involved the use of ​“like-kind” tax deferred exchanges (commonly known as ​“1031 exchanges”), including multiple borrower ​“tenant in common” structures.
