 Scott McGee is a government relations and public policy advisor in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. He focuses his practice on monitoring and lobbying legislative issues on behalf of clients as well as developing political strategies.

Prior to joining Kelley Drye, Scott worked for a small government relations firm providing federal legislative and regulatory advocacy for local government entities.

Previous professional experience includes serving as personal assistant to U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) for almost 5 years where he managed the Senator’s personal office operations. Prior to his work on Capitol Hill, Scott was special assistant to U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexis Herman, serving as the Secretary’s liaison to the White House Office of Cabinet Affairs.

  Represented multiple energy developers in resolutions of potential Agricultural Foreign Investment Disclosure Act (AFIDA) violations.

Assisted a client in obtaining a provision in the FY 2017 NDAA report addressing TRICARE’s lack of coverage for certain laboratory developed tests.

Assisted a client in obtaining a provision to allow the export of crude oil as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2016.

Attained Congressional authorization to allow a client to set up a managed-care system.

Led coalition of stakeholders to secure funding for a rural economic development program.

Worked with a Federal agency and Members of Congress to allow local Foreign Trade Zone to expand without a local cost-share requirement.

Participated in successful effort to secure favorable legislative language and subsequent federal regulations for the benefit of clients hit hard by home foreclosures.

Advocated Congress and OMB against reductions in various Federal funding programs of interest to clients.

Secured funding for several local projects through the annual appropriations process.
