Mike has handled many U.S. antidumping (AD) and (CV) countervailing duty investigations of agricultural products, including fresh Atlantic salmon from Norway and Chile; fresh garlic from China; honey from Argentina and China; and certain preserved mushrooms from Chile, China, India and Indonesia. Mike also has worked on Mexican AD investigations of live swine and bovine meat imports from the United States. A tenacious advocate, Mike routinely appears before the major federal trade agencies, including the Commerce Department, the International Trade Commission, Customs and Border Protection and the U.S. Trade Representative; and he represents clients in appeals of agency decisions before the Court of International Trade and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Mike also has substantial experience in working with Customs to stop fraudulent evasion by imports of AD/CV duties put in place to protect U.S. producers of competing domestic goods. Mike’s ability to resolve clients’ high-stakes problems before the trade agencies and reviewing courts through arguments that make practical and legal sense have earned him a reputation for excellence among his peers, clients, regulators and judges.
