 Carolyn Jones, a senior associate in the New York office, concentrates her practice on representing individuals in financial services, private equity, real estate, sports and the performing arts, multigenerational families, entrepreneurs and fiduciaries and international investors in the acquisition, disposition and financing of high-end and investment grade real estate. She also has several years of experience representing investment banks, commercial banks, insurance companies and other institutional lenders in connection with the origination of commercial mortgage loans, mezzanine loans, component note structures and related products. In addition, she also has over ten years of experience representing high net worth individuals investing in residential real estate.

Carolyn advises clients on numerous issues relating to the acquisition of real property such as townhouses, condominiums and apartment properties and cooperative apartments, including market issues, due diligence, real property and transfer taxes. She counsels non-US investors with respect to issues unique to their ownership of US property interests such as compliance with Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act of 1980.

 

  Represent private equity developer in the acquisition, financing and disposition of townhouse properties in New York City.

Represent executors and other fiduciaries with respect to issues related to the acquisition and disposition of real estate holdings.

Assisted clients in the acquisition of vineyard, winery and farm properties and disposition of headquarters of privately held family business.

Counsel clients in office, retail and residential retail leasing matters and assist clients with ongoing landlord/tenant, property management matters.
