Partner [Eric McClafferty](/Our-People/Eric-McClafferty) was quoted in the *Wall Street Journal’s Risk & Compliance Journal* article ​“Ubiquiti Shows Compliance Perils of Rapid Growth.” The article discusses Ubiquiti Networks Inc.’s apparent sanctions violations, which illustrate what can happen to a fast-growing company when compliance doesn’t keep up. Eric explained that explosive growth often makes fledgling companies careless about compliance, as companies often delay anti-bribery and sanctions programs because of budget concerns. ​“It’s extremely common that when companies grow too quickly compliance matters outstrip their ability to deal with them. Compliance laws are complex for someone not experienced in international transactions. It’s something they often get to very late.”
