# The Wall Street Journal Quotes Partner John E. Villafranco on FTC Case Against POM Wonderful

The *Wall Street Journal* article, ​“POM Lambastes FTC,” discussed the allegations made by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) that POM Wonderful LLC made false health claims in its advertising. The FTC sued POM, claiming the company’s studies don’t back up the health claims in its earlier ads that the juice can improve heart and prostate health and treat erectile dysfunction. POM plans to fight these allegations in court. ​“If the FTC wins, the agency will be able to put POM under an order that charges damages for advertising violations,” said partner John E. Villafranco.
