# The National Law Journal Quotes Partner William C. MacLeod on Anticipated FTC Enforcement Activity in Obama’s Second Term

Partner **William C. MacLeod** was quoted in *The National Law Journal* article entitled, ​“Agencies Gear Up for Obama’s Second Term.” With the re-election of President Barack Obama, lawyers are bracing for more vigorous enforcement activity and new policy initiatives at federal regulatory agencies. During Obama’s first term, when merger activity hit an all-time low, the Federal Trade Commission’s consumer protection mission took on a higher profile. As merger activity rebounds, Mr. MacLeod predicted that ​“on both the competition and consumer protection sides, we’re going to see an agency facing a great deal of enforcement imperatives.”
