# Practical Law The Journal Interviews Partner Gonzalo E. Mon on Advertising Disclosure in Social Media

Partner **Gonzalo E. Mon** was interviewed by *Practical Law The Journal* for the GC Agenda column. Mr. Mon discussed two recent cases involving advertising disclosure in social media that should serve as examples. Companies that advertise in social media using testimonials should be aware that the FTC and the National Advertising Division (NAD), an investigative unit of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, are increasing their scrutiny of these ads. Mr. Mon provided commentary about cases involving Pinterest and Spokeo, and reminds companies that despite its casual nature, social media is subject to the same FTC and NAD scrutiny as traditional media.
