# Partner Quoted in Forbes on Toll Telephone Tax

*Forbes* quoted Partner Jack Miles in the article ​“Phony Tax,” which reports that the Internal Revenue Service has been wrongly collecting a 3% tax on toll telephone services, according to seven federal district court decisions. ​“Over the past decade dozens of…big companies have quietly applied to the IRS and got about 35% of their taxes back,” Jack reports. Nevertheless, the IRS continues to collect the tax and is expected to appeal all seven court losses.
