The latest settlement means New Mexico has now received $48 million to redress the Gold King Mine blowout, after previously getting compensation from the U.S. government and several mining companies. Lawyers with Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, which helped represent the state, last week touted the deal with Environmental Restoration and Weston Solutions as the latest settlement aimed at remediating ecological damage.
