Partner [Gonzalo Mon ](/Our-People/Gonzalo-E-Mon)was quoted in the *Martech Today* article ​“What the FTC’s latest endorsement disclosure actions mean for marketers.” The FTC recently announced that it had reached a settlement in its first-ever complaint against individual social media influencers and that it had sent warning letters to 21 other prominent influencers. In addition, the FTC announced that it had updated previous guidance on influencer campaigns. Gonzalo noted that the FTC’s letters and guidance are meant to educate the industry about what the FTC thinks they need to do to comply with the law. These steps are often the precursor to more formal challenges, so companies should assess their compliance procedures.
