# Law360 Reports Kelley Drye Wins Case for Kelsey Grammer and CBS

In the article, ​“CBS, ​‘Frasier’ Star Kick TV Writer’s Copyright Suit,” *Law360* reported a California federal judge dismissed a lawsuit accusing producers of the BET television series, ​“The Game” of misappropriation of ideas, unjust enrichment and copyright violations. An aspiring writer, Cassandra Colo’n, filed two virtually identical lawsuits in Indiana and California. An Indiana federal judge threw out the claims filed against defendants represented by Kelley Drye. On, May 8, 2012, U.S. District Judge Manuel L. Real dismissed Colo’n’s California case. He cited preemption by the federal copyright claim, expiration of the statute of limitation and the doctrine of *res judicata*, as an Indiana court already ruled upon the same claims.

The article noted that Kelsey Grammer, CBS Radford Productions, Mara Brock Akil, Happy Camper Productions and Grammnet Productions are represented by Kelley Drye.
