Partner [Wayne D’Angelo](/Our-People/Wayne-J-D-Angelo) was quoted in the *Law360* article ​“Proposed Methane Cuts Feasible Despite Energy Cos.’ Fears.” The article features expert expectations following the announcement of the Obama administration’s methane emissions reduction target. Mr. D’Angelo points out the administration’s recognition of the downward trend in methane emissions, ​“The fact that there’s a trend line pointing down that they’re concerned will turn around has appropriately focused them on the new wells. Focusing on them would allow the administration to preserve the downward trend that is already happening.” The experts also suggest alternative strategies for decreasing methane emissions, such as expediting the permitting of pipeline infrastructure, ​“Methane’s valuable; companies want to capture it,” Mr. D’Angelo said. ​“Having the infrastructure in place to sell it aligns the regulators with the regulated community.”
