Partner [John Herrmann](/Our-People/John-M-Herrmann-II) was quoted in the *Law360* article ​“Chinese Steel Faces More Duties As Commerce Finds Dumping.” The U.S. Department of Commerce handed down another round of preliminary tariffs on Chinese steel products after finding that the goods were being sold in the U.S. market at unfairly low prices, handing a win to the domestic producers who are pursuing the duties. The agency’s decision comes just over two months after it unveiled preliminary margins in a parallel countervailing duty probe of Chinese stainless steel sheet and strip in response to petitions filed by U.S. steel producers. The petitioners are represented by Mr. Herrmann, partner [Kathleen W. Cannon](/Our-People/Kathleen-W-Cannon) and associate [Grace W. Kim](/Our-People/Grace-Kim). Mr. Herrmann said, ​“The requirement that U.S. importers begin to post estimated anti-dumping duties on stainless steel sheet and strip from China — in combination with the existing requirement that importers post estimated countervailing duties on such shipments — will help to eliminate unfair trade and restore a level playing field in the U.S. market.”
