Partner [Lauri A. Mazzuchetti](/Our-People/Lauri-A-Mazzuchetti) provided comments to *Law360* on the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to weigh in on whether businesses that are sued under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act can reduce costly litigation by making settlement offers to individual plaintiffs. This could help lower the increasing number of class action dockets. ​“The Supreme Court’s decision to review this issue could be a game changer. A favorable decision would go a long way to curbing the abusive lawsuits that have plagued this area of the law,” said Ms. Mazzuchetti.

The new case is *Campbell-Ewald v. Gomez, 14-857*.
