# Law360 Names Robert D. Bickford Jr. 2016 Real Estate MVP

Kelley Drye is pleased to announce that partner [Robert D. Bickford Jr.](/Our-People/Robert-D-Bickford-Jr) has been honored by *Law360* as an MVP in Real Estate for 2016. *Law360* MVPs are an elite slate of attorneys who have distinguished themselves from their peers by securing hard-earned successes in complex and record-breaking real estate deals.

One of the five honorees in the real estate category, Mr. Bickford worked on two of the biggest real estate deals of the year. A pair of billion-dollar-plus sales of Manhattan skyscrapers for longtime client AXA Financial, helped earn him a spot on *Law360*​’s list of 2016 Real Estate MVPs.

Mr. Bickford said working with clients over the course of many years helps him to gain a better understanding of their business objectives and strategies. This understanding, he said, leads to better representation, and is an ideal he tries to instill in young associates at the firm.

“I tell them things like ​‘add value or get out of the way,’” Mr. Bickford said. ​“It’s not about how many comments we can make to a document to show how smart we are, it’s about understanding the business objective and working towards accomplishing that.”
