Partner [Michael C. Lynch](/Our-People/Michael-C-Lynch), chair of the litigation practice group, is mentioned in the *Law360* article, ​“Foot Locker Escapes Veritas Suit Over $13M Loan,” regarding their successful dismissal of Veritas Financial Partners’ lawsuit against client Foot Locker Inc. VFP claimed it was left with defaulted loans worth more than $13 million after Foot Locker verified bogus invoices. Judge Charles E. Ramos said VFP failed to show that the Foot Locker employees who allegedly verified the invoices were acting with the scope of their employment. In addition, the judge found that VFP did not demonstrate that Foot Locker ​“intentionally or carelessly” made VFP think the Foot Locker employees had authority to verify the invoices.
