Riddell has asked federal courts in West Virginia and New Jersey to dismiss a class action lawsuit arguing that the plaintiffs’ false advertising claims over the safety benefits of Riddell football helmets were invalid saying, ​“The Fourth Circuit found that a plaintiff cannot cast aside a supporting study and claim advertising statements are false on the grounds that the overwhelming weight of high quality, credible and reliable studies are contrary to the supporting study.”
