# John Villafranco Discusses Genetic Information Security in *NutraIngredients* Article

In an article detailing a settlement in the first FTC case focused on both the privacy and security of genetic information, *NutraIngredients* features Kelley Drye Partner [John Villafranco](https://www.kelleydrye.com/people/john-e-villafranco).

“If a company is collecting personal information, then it should evaluate the way in which it is collecting, processing, sharing, storing, and deleting data. These processes should prioritize protecting sensitive data from being exposed to bad actors or sharing data with parties without obtaining consumer consent,” Villafranco said.
