# Daily Journal Reports on Kelley Drye / White O’Connor Strengths

The *Daily Journal* article, ​“White O’Conor Merger Lands Kelley Drye in L.A.,” described the process of forming Kelley Drye’s Los Angeles office, which resulted from strategic planning and thoughtful discussions. The article stated, ​“The merger gives the 175-year-old firm an established presence in the Los Angeles market, especially in entertainment litigation, White O’Connor’s specialty.” It also noted, ​“The Century City-based boutique gets a boost in return, with access to Kelley Drye’s six national offices and expanded practice areas that include corporate transactions and government regulations.”

It noted White O’Connor representations of Warner Bros. Entertainment, Paramount Pictures, Fox Searchlight Pictures, Steven Spielberg, Jane Fonda and Chris Rock. It also noted Kelley Drye recent litigation victories and corporate deals, including the sale of One Communications to EarthLink.

Finally the piece quoted managing partner **James J. Kirk**. He noted the firm’s need for ​“strong West Coast litigators with experience representing blue-chip clients” and that “ ​‘White O’Connor fit that bill 100 percent.’ ”
