Partner [Gonzalo Mon](/Our-People/Gonzalo-E-Mon) was quoted in the *Compliance Week* article ​“Due diligence best practices for corporate sponsors.” The article discusses the degree of risk in the event of adverse publicity arising from sponsorship deals and the continuing corruption scandal involving FIFA. ​“The existence of a morals clause in a contract is no longer controversial; we see this all the time. The scope of them, however, is controversial,” Gonzalo noted.

Carrying out due diligence before entering a corporate sponsorship is key. ​“Part of it is doing the due diligence upfront and understanding what your risk tolerance is. It starts with something as simple as a Google search,” he said.
