# Buffalo Law Journal Quotes Partner Gonzalo E. Mon on the Bills’ Texting Lawsuit

Partner [Gonzalo E. Mon](/Our-People/Gonzalo-E-Mon) was quoted in the *Buffalo Law Journal* article ​“Bills’ Price in Texting Lawsuit $3 Million.” The article discusses the $3 million settlement the Buffalo Bills have reached as part of a Federal Court case filed two years ago that alleged the organization sent more text messages to subscribers than what was originally disclosed in the mobile alert program agreement. Mr. Mon encourages businesses, including professional sports franchises, to carefully draft the terms of their text message programs and make sure to run those programs in accordance with those terms. He explained, ​“Sometimes there’s a disconnect (in the organization)… Sometimes when someone is coming up with a disclosure they see that this other team did the same thing, so they figure let’s just copy it. So, sometimes there is a disconnect between what’s disclosed and what the reality is.”
