# Bill MacLeod Testifies Before FTC

[Bill MacLeod’s](/Our-People/William-C-MacLeod) testimony before the FTC is featured in an article in *Prevue.* The hearing is on the FTC’s proposal to prohibit all impersonations of businesses, government entities, or officers of either. The rule is intended to stop the fraudulent come-ons by con artists trying to swindle consumers. But in its haste to issue the rule, the FTC wrote it so broadly that it would ban every advertisement with a fictional depictions of a politician, doctor, factory, or storefront, whether misleading or not.
