Partner [Christie Thompson](/Our-People/Christie-Grymes-Thompson) was quoted in an *Eyeing Marketing* article titled ​“Event Sponsors -- Are You Liable if the Organizer Violates the Law?” The article discusses the potential for event sponsorship to have a negative repercussion on a company due to the actions of the organizer. Christie noted, ​“Even if there is not a strong legal basis for liability...plaintiffs often name the sponsor as one of the defendants.” She provided tips for companies to protect themselves, including researching the event organization, ensuring the organizer agrees to indemnify the company from any such disputes, and consider insurance for additional protection.
