# Alysa Hutnik Interview Featured in Buzzfeed

Partner and Privacy and Information Security practice chair [Alysa Hutnik](https://www.kelleydrye.com/people/alysa-z-hutnik) was quoted by *Buzzfeed* in their article ​“Apparently Not Checking This WiFi Setting Is Like ​“Leaving Your Front Door Open” To Hackers.” The interview covers several practical tips that people can use to protect their privacy when dealing with new technology.

“Anytime you’re buying technology, go to settings,” she said. ​“Usually there’s a privacy option and a security option ... spend 60 seconds just exploring what those options are. Companies are getting so much better — we’ve got a whole lot of new \[privacy\] laws — so they are offering new options. \[These protective settings\] may not be default, but you can certainly turn them on.”
