Our attorneys represent diverse clients before the FCC, FTC, NTIA, DOD, DOJ, DHS, state public utility commissions, and other agencies. We help U.S. and foreign wireless and wireline carriers, submarine cable operators, communications and information service providers navigate a complex range of federal and state laws, regulations, and industry practice. We assist users of radio frequency spectrum from a wide variety of industries and manufacturers of equipment that emits radio frequency energy in tackling compliance issues, advocating for or against policy and rule changes, and resolving interference concerns with other non-government parties. We appreciate our client’s need to close transactions and financings successfully and on time. Because our clients’ business transactions can be immensely complicated, we draw on knowledge and experience not only from our practice group but across the firm. Our team conducts regulatory due diligence, advises on deal structure, negotiates, drafts transaction documents, and issue’s opinion letters. We guide clients and their investors through national security and law enforcement reviews and obtain federal and state regulatory clearances and approvals on their behalf. If litigation arises, we make sure that core client business resources are not held up in the process, and we work to deliver a successful outcome to threatened and active adjudications efficiently—whether they be consumer complaints, business disputes, or regulatory and enforcement actions. We also offer seamless cross-discipline counsel, advising on intellectual property matters, consumer protection suits and class actions, Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) cases, white collar criminal investigations and related civil litigation, tax matters, state and federal preemption cases, and government contracts, among other subjects.
