# PepsiCo’s GC Tells Why Clients Demand Diversity

On March 29, 2017, Kelley Drye welcomed to the firm, **Tony West**, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Executive Vice President of Public Policy and Government Affairs of PepsiCo, as part of its Diversity Speaker Series. In a luncheon presentation, shared by video conference across all Kelley Drye’s domestic offices, Mr. West spoke about the importance of diversity in the legal profession - to him personally and to corporations such as PepsiCo. He acknowledged the compelling significance of diversity as a business imperative and gave examples from his own experience of the higher quality decision making that results from diverse teams; paramount, however, was the need for the legal profession, charged with administering justice for all, be a reflection of those it serves. Mr. West’s presentation was very well received.
