# How to Effectively Manage an Internal Employment Investigation: Doing it Right and Keeping Your Company out of the Headlines

On July 23, 2014, partners [**Barbara Hoey**](/Our-People/Barbara-E-Hoey) and [**Michael Lynch**](/Our-People/Michael-C-Lynch) spoke at a conference, ​“A Legal Toolkit for In-House Counsel,” produced by the Greater New York Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel. Their session, ​“How to Effectively Manage an Internal Employment Investigation: Doing it Right and Keeping Your Company out of the Headlines,” examined the importance of having a crisis plan in place for a potential employment-related investigation, as who manages and oversees an investigation and the steps taken in the first days and hours of a crisis can often be the key to a successful outcome.
