# FCC’s New Consent Rules for Text and Voice Telemarketing

On January 15, 2014 partner [Lauri A. Mazzuchetti](/Our-People/Lauri-A-Mazzuchetti) spoke at Law Seminars International’s Telebriefing titled ​“FCC’s New Consent Rules for Text and Voice Telemarketing.” The telebrieifing reviewed the new FCC rules from a compliance perspective, and offered practical suggestions on how to obtain consents from prospective customers. She discussed proposals to modify the rules for prior customers, the impact of these rules on class action litigation involving the TCPA and the details of what will qualify as express written consent under the FCC’s new rules.
