# Avoiding Pitfalls and Trolls in Payment Agreements: Understanding How AI, Open Source and Licenses Impact the Payment Industry

The last place companies want to find themselves is litigation over a payments agreement. But misunderstandings and misinterpretations can turn industry partners into adversaries. This must-attend CLE for payments attorneys will get past the boilerplate and give attendees an understanding of the ​“how and why” of payment agreements’ intellectual property rights. We will discuss the treatment of open-source code and AI and how to escape patent trolls lurking behind broad patents. Attendees will learn how to protect trade secrets amid the legal uncertainty of non-compete agreements. This CLE will use interactive case-studies to illuminate best practices for legal professionals.
