Sojin Yoon is a senior associate in the firm’s New York office. She focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and international arbitration, including contract disputes, federal and state False Claims Act allegations and common law fraud. Among the clients Sojin has represented are international and U.S. companies in a variety of industries, including clients in the construction, pharmaceutical, ophthalmology, medical testing and telecommunications sectors.
Complex Commercial Litigation
Member of trial team that successfully represented a major international construction company in a five-day bench trial in the District Court of New Jersey. The Court found that the sellers breached their representation and warranties in the purchase agreement, and awarded the client millions of dollars in damages plus attorneys’ fees.
Assisted in the defense of a national medical testing laboratory in litigation involving a contract dispute stemming from an asset purchase transaction.
Assisted in successful representation of an international eyewear company in an AAA arbitration governed by New York law, which culminated in the upholding of an exclusive long-term license agreement.
Assisted in successful representation of an international real estate development company in an ICC arbitration governed by New York law arising from a co-development agreement dispute.
False Claims Act Defense
Member of the litigation team defending pharmaceutical manufacturers in numerous cases alleging Medicare and Medicaid fraud brought by the U.S. Department of Justice on behalf of the United States and Attorneys General of several states.
