Monica Moussighi focuses her practice on intellectual property matters. She has spent her career counseling companies regarding licensing and protecting their intellectual property, and she has wide ranging litigation experience including cases involving patents, trademark, copyright, and commercial disputes.
Monica advises clients on complex legal issues in the technology, manufacturing, financial, and oil and gas industries, among others. She performs a large volume of art searches and applied research to invalidate competitor patents, draft invalidity opinions and develop claim charts for patent infringement assertions. Monica was selected as a Rising Star by Texas Super Lawyers
in 2015 and 2017.
Prior to her legal experience, Monica was a material-evaluating engineer for an energy company in Houston. She evaluated materials for use on electrical distribution lines—both economically and technically—investigated legal claims regarding materials used, participated in lawsuit resolution and provided engineering analysis. Monica has received mediation certification training and has a Texas Engineer-In-Training certificate.
Monica is an American Red Cross volunteer.
