LAUREN N. MARGOLIES Associate
Lauren Margolies is an associate in the firm’s New York office.  Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on class action suits.  Lauren has a demonstrated history of working on cases in areas of false advertising, TCPA claims, and violation of consumer protection statutes.

Lauren also provides pro bono services, specifically in the area of post-trial criminal defense.

Prior to joining Kelley Drye, Lauren was a legal assistant at an energy regulatory and oil pipeline regulation law firm in Washington, D.C.  She also participated in the Criminal Law Internship Program at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia.  While in law school, Lauren represented indigent clients as a member of the Youth Justice Clinic.
 
Assisted team in representing a national testing laboratory and its affiliate at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, which vacated a seven figure judgment against the laboratory and dismissed a claim that they breached a licensing agreement.

Drafted motion to dismiss which was granted in the Southern District of New York, dismissing all claims against an international contemporary art fair. Assisted team in successful defeat of appeal in the Second Circuit.

Assisted case team in securing a hung jury after a class action trial in the Northern District of California, for a dietary supplement company. Further assisted team in multiple class action settlements for same client.
