JENNIE WOLTZ Special Counsel
Jennie Woltz is special counsel in the Labor and Employment practice group at Kelley Drye & Warren’s New York office.

With over a decade of private practice and in house legal and HR operations experience, Jennie’s practice includes counseling and advising clients in all areas of employment and labor law, and HR compliance, representing clients before governmental agencies and defending single plaintiff, multi-plaintiff, and class action litigation, as well as in arbitration and mediations. Jennie’s clients, which include employers of all types and sizes, rely on her for prompt, creative, result-driven advice that marries sound legal strategy and efficient, effective operations.

Jennie frequently represents clients in a range of litigation matters, including claims under Title VII, the ADA, ADEA, FLSA, FMLA, NYHRL and NYCHRL. She has also litigated cases involving breach of non-compete and theft of trade secret, and has represented several employers successfully before the unemployment insurance division of the NYSDOL, in misclassification proceedings. At a prior law firm, Jennie represented clients in complex commercial matters including alleged breach of securities laws, corporate governance disputes, and adversary proceedings in bankruptcy, and breach of contract matters. In her early years of practice, she served as a pro bono secondee at the New York Civil Liberties Union and at the Legal Aid Society, where she represented juveniles in delinquency hearings before the Brooklyn Family Court.

In addition, Jennie is passionate about rendering legal counsel pertaining to ongoing employment law compliance. She works with her clients to review policies, handbooks, employment contracts, guide reductions in force and layoffs, and to design strategies for handling a plethora of workplace issues.  Jennie works with human resources and in-house counsel to conduct investigations into complaints of alleged wrongdoing, and provides training on topics ranging from discrimination and harassment, wage and hour compliance, and leave administration.

Known as a pragmatic attorney, Jennie has been described by clients and colleagues as a straight shooter with a true interest in moving the ball down the court, and is a persuasive and effective communicator and negotiator.

As an engaging and enthusiastic public speaker and writer, Jennie has spoken publically, and published more than a dozen articles, on emerging legal issues.
