David is a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property and Litigation practices. David provides strategic intellectual property guidance and counseling and is active in all aspects of IP protection, including patent litigation, due diligence in IP transactions, IP licensing and inter partes review, with special focus in the technology, medical devices and telecommunications sectors.

In his third decade of practice, David serves as a trusted advisor and advocate who has participated in more than 50 patent litigation matters to numerous clients across the United States. David’s abilities are consistently recognized by Chambers USA, Chamber Global, USA IP Texas and other organizations since 2005. Clients appreciate David’s business-goals-first approach to problem solving. Notably, David served as lead patent trial counsel in a billion dollar dispute between two household name tech giants. Provided due diligence in a bid for a leading medical device company, advising on what was and was not valuable in the target business.

For more than a decade, has counseled one of the nation’s top telecommunications service providers, providing strategic advice and IP opinion work.

Favorably represented a plaintiff alleging infringement of a patent related to blades for use in microkeratomes, which are ophthalmic devices used in LASIK procedures.  The defendant subsequently exited the sector.

Lead patent counsel defending one of the world’s largest semiconductor memory chip makers against patent infringement claims on dynamic random access memories.  Resulted in a take-nothing jury verdict that was named to National Law Journal’s “Defense Hot List.”
