Amy Gaven focuses her practice on all aspects of intellectual property law, including trademark, copyright, trade dress and unfair competition issues.  Amy has counseled distinguished clients from a variety of industry and specialized market segments, including fashion and entertainment, media, luxury goods, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and consumer products, among others.

In her second decade of practice, Amy helps clients design intellectual property strategies from the inside out when launching and expanding their brands.  She is known for her extraordinary skill in overcoming problems and resolving disputes amicably, leaving space for her clients to maintain their business relationships in the face of even the most difficult controversy.

Prior to joining the Kelley Drye, Amy worked at a boutique intellectual property firm where she advised clients in developing strategies for the protection of their intellectual property assets worldwide, as well as litigated trademark, trade dress, unfair competition and copyright cases. In addition, she began her career with the litigation department of a major New York firm, where she handled a variety of intellectual property and commercial litigation matters, as well as worked in an in-house capacity in connection with the enforcement and commercial development of intellectual property rights.
