Alyssa Smilowitz concentrates her practice on counseling clients in employment law matters. As a member of the Labor and Employment practice group, she represents employers in litigation involving claims of discrimination, harassment and retaliation, and violations of federal and state employment law. To help employers avoid potential litigation risks, Alyssa drafts and revises employee handbooks, separation agreements, employer trainings and drug and alcohol testing policies.
Alyssa routinely assists with traditional labor research and matters before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). She also helps federal contractor and subcontractor employers navigate federal affirmative action compliance including the analysis of employers’ workforce and compensation data to develop and maintain annual affirmative action plans.
