Observations on Holder Confirmation Hearings

Kelley Drye Client Advisory

The Senate Judiciary Committee held its hearings on the nomination of Eric Holder as Attorney General on January 15 and 16, 2009. Mr. Holder testified before the Committee on January 15, while the following day was reserved for other witnesses. Mr. Holder’s testimony provided important clues regarding the direction he is likely to lead the Department of Justice in certain key areas.

Kelley Drye’s White Collar, Investigations and Compliance Group has authored this advisory analyzing some of the key areas covered in the testimony: corporate prosecutions, Congressional oversight, antitrust, False Claims Act and whistleblower protection.
