Kelley Drye Client Advisory

Kelley Drye’s Consumer Product Safety and Government Relations and Public Policy Practice Groups have prepared a Client Advisory entitled, House and Senate Appoint Conferees to Sweeping CPSC Legislation: Final Lap for Legislation with Major Implications for Manufacturers, Importers, and Retailers.”

The Advisory discusses the newly appointed conference committee comprised of House and Senate conferees, which is charged with reconciling the variations in the Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reauthorization legislation previously passed by the House and the Senate, respectively. In addition to reauthorizing the CPSC, H.R. 4040 will have major implications for many manufacturers, distributors, importers, and retailers of consumer products. The Advisory also discusses the anticipated timeline for completion of the bill and the controversial provisions that the conference committee will work to reconcile.
