House Ways and Means Committee Releases List of Bills Under Consideration for Miscellaneous Tariff Legislation

The International Trade and Government Relations and Public Policy Practice Groups have prepared a Client Advisory titled House Ways and Means Committee Releases List of Bills Under Consideration for Miscellaneous Tariff Legislation: Seeks Public Comment.” The Advisory discusses the House Ways and Means Committee’s release of its list of House bills under consideration for inclusion in omnibus miscellaneous tariff legislation. The list contains over 700 bills seeking the temporary reduction or elimination of tariffs imposed on certain imported products, duty refunds on specific importations, and other technical corrections to the tariff schedule.

The list was released on February 25, 2008, and the deadline to submit written comments to the Committee, either in support of or in opposition to the bills, is April 10, 2008.
